Weather Policy

Your safety and enjoyment come first.

Your safety and enjoyment are my first priority. Florida weather can change quickly, so I closely monitor conditions before and throughout every trip.

Trips may be delayed, rescheduled, shortened, or cancelled when conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, including:

  • Lightning or thunderstorms in the area
  • Severe weather warnings, high winds, or hazardous lake conditions
  • Heavy rain that creates unsafe visibility or boating conditions
  • Tropical weather, named storms, or unsafe launch conditions
  • Cold fronts or extreme temperatures when safety is a concern

Light rain, normal wind, cloud cover, heat, and typical Florida weather do not automatically cancel a trip. Bass still bite in a little weather, and we can often adjust the plan to make the day productive and comfortable.

If weather cancels before launch

If I cancel a trip because of weather before we launch, you may choose to reschedule or receive a full refund of your deposit.

If weather moves in during the trip

If weather moves in after the trip has started, I will make the safest call based on conditions. We may wait it out, move to protected water, return to the ramp temporarily, or end the trip early. If we have already fished a substantial portion of the scheduled trip, the trip is considered completed. If severe weather forces us off the water early, I will work with you fairly on a partial credit or rescheduling option when possible.

Cancelling for personal weather preference

Guests may cancel due to personal weather preference, but standard cancellation terms apply unless I have called for a weather cancellation.

What to bring

Please bring rain gear, sun protection, and clothing appropriate for Florida's changing conditions. Final weather decisions are made by your captain.
